The Courts of Ashby de la Zouch (Places to hide the Poor) by Joshua Bancroft

ÂŁ8.00

This booklet documents the 19th and early 20th century Courts of the town. It is written and illustrated by an ex-Ashby School and present Oxford University student, Josh Bancroft, and details the lives of the, mainly, poor inhabitants who lived in what we would now regard as 'slums'. These were to be found down the alleyways of Market and Wood Streets and in the Green, Millbank and the Callis.
